Gillian Riley
Gill says that she was very fortunate to grow up in a family that loved travelling and great experiences. She lived in Hong Kong as a child, and the family explored Asia from there.
In her 20s she spent all her money on travelling and it was whilst on an escorted tour in Russia, that the Tour Manager suggested to herthe idea of working in tourism. Before she knew it, she was signed up for a new way of life. Living and breathing tourism, travel and hospitality.
Gill started out doing coaching holidays from the UK all across Europe which she says was great fun and taught her so much. Shethen started River Cruising, rail holidays and then moved onto long haul travel starting with Shanghai and the Yangtze River.
Gill says “I have been lucky to travel to many countries, have some excellent experiences whilst working, showing people the sights, sounds and life of the country. It is when they have a wow moment and I have the privilege to share it with them, or they see something that they thought may only be possible in a dream that I get great pleasure”.
